CAG 2024 Annual Meeting and Conference: The 74th Annual Meeting and Conference of the Canadian Association of Geographers will be hosted by the Department of Geography at the Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) from August 14th - 18th, 2024, following the theme edges. The deadline to register has now closed. However, the deadline to submit poster presentations remains open until June 30th. For more information on this year's Conference, please see here

CoPEH-Canada Course and webinar series on Ecosystem Approaches to Health: CoPEH-Canada will be hosting a series of webinars from May 9 - June 4, 2024, surrounding the theme “Climate Health Equity and Reciprocity.” This webinar series covers the main orientations of the Ecosystem approaches to health (complexity/systems thinking, transdisciplinarity, (ecosystem) sustainability, social and gender equity, participation, and knowledge to action). This course is available to graduate students from all disciplines and also to professionals interested in these themes. CoPEH-Canada is pleased to announce that the yearly course will be offered at the usual sites (UQAM, Guelph, UNBC, online) PLUS a group at SFU! Please visit the website for more details. 

Stratus 2024: The Systems and Technologies for Remote Sensing Applications Through Unmanned Aerial Systems (STRATUS) conference will take place May 20-22, 2024 in Syracuse, NY. It will bring together academics, industry representatives, and domain specialists to share perspectives on this rapidly evolving topic. Find out more.  

Call for Nominations - Canada’s Volunteer Awards 2024: It is time to nominate an outstanding individual, a not-for-profit organization, a social enterprise, or a socially responsible business who has made a significant contribution in improving the lives of others in their community through volunteering. Congress 2024: The next Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences will be held at McGill University from June 12 to 21, 2024. Registration is now open! To register please visit the website. North Atlantic Forum (NAF) 2024: The NAF bi-annual international conference will be taking place in Connemara, Ireland from June 17-21, 2024 with the theme Sustainable Livelihoods: Regenerating Integrated Development through Innovative Communities. 2024 International Association for Society and Natural Resources (IASNR) Conference: The annual meeting of the IASNR (formerly known as the ISSRM) will be taking place in Cairns, Australia from June 23-27, 2024. The IASNR conference emphasizes local to global resource management issues, environmental justice, collaborative stakeholder processes, and the social impacts of natural resource management. Nature Based Coastal Solutions and Ecological Restoration Symposium 2024: The Coastal Zone Canada’s Nature Based Coastal Solutions Community of Practice and TransCoastal Adaptations will be hosting the Nature Based Coastal Solutions and Ecological Restoration Symposium in conjunction with the Society for Ecological Restoration Eastern Canada. This event will be hosted at Saint Mary’s University from June 23 - 27, 2024. For more details, please visit here

SUMSF 2024: The Virtual Subsurface Utility Mapping Strategy Forum Conference will take place June 25-26, 2024. SUMSF 2024 is a free virtual event that will bring together individuals and organizations who wish to share information about and contribute to improving the mapping of underground infrastructure. CANQUA–CGRG 2024: The Canadian Quaternary Association and the Canadian Geomorphology Research Group Biennial Meeting will be held in Regina, SK, August. 18–21, 2024Registration is open until August 18th.

The International Geographical Congress (IGC2024): The 35th IGC2024 will be taking place in Dublin, Ireland from August 24-30, 2024 and will focus on the topic of Geographies and Mobilities of Hiking in the Post-Pandemic Anthropocene. 16th Conference on Spatial Information Theory (COSIT 2024): The 16th Conference on Spatial Information Theory will be held in Quebec City, Canada from September 17-20, 2024. The theme of this year's COSIT is "spatial information theory for transparent translational research." Established in 1993, COSIT is a biennial international conference series concerned with theoretical aspects of space and spatial information. Please  See here to register.

Assemblée annuelle et congrès de l'ACG 2024 : La 74e assemblée annuelle et congrès de l'Association canadienne des géographes sera accueillie par le département de géographie de l'Université Memorial de Terre-Neuve (MUN) du 14 au 18 août 2024, sur le thème des limites. La date limite d'inscription est maintenant terminée. Cependant, la date limite de soumission des présentations d'affiches reste ouverte jusqu'au 30 juin. CoPEH-Canada Formation sur les approches écosystémiques de la santé : CoPEH-Canada organise une série de webinaires du 9 mai au 4 juin 2024 sur le thème « la justice climatique et sanitaire et les relations mutuellement bénéfiques. » Cette série de webinaires abordent les principales orientations guidant les approches écosystémiques de la santé (complexité/pensée systémique, transdisciplinarité, participation de multiples actrices et acteurs, durabilité des écosystèmes, équité sociale et de genre, mobilisation des connaissances/passage du savoir à l’action). Cette formation est offerte aux étudiantes et étudiants des cycles supérieurs de toutes les disciplines et toutes les universités, de même qu’aux professionnelles et professionnels intéressés·es par ces thématiques. The journal, Canadian Geographies / Géographies canadiennes, has the following books available for review. If interested, please send an email to the Book Review Editor, Nalini Mohabir, with a brief explanation of why you are well-suited to review the book (i.e., how it fits with your expertise).

Please note, book reviews usually run between 500–750 words. For collections of essays or books of particular significance (noted by the review editor at the invitation stage), reviews may range up to 900 words.

PCAG Prairie Perspectives Returns: We are happy to share the return of Prairie Perspectives: Geographical EssaysPrairie Perspectives is an open-access, peer-reviewed publication of the Prairie Division of the Canadian Association of Geographers (PCAG). This latest Volume, Volume 23, marks an anticipated return since it was last published in 2021. Check out Volume 23 here
